We've unveiled a new look for our council vehicles this week, helping make our services more visible and recognisable in communities across West Berkshire.

The new designs introduce a stronger, more consistent design and will be introduced gradually across our fleet. As our vehicles travel through towns and villages each day, they will also help promote the services and support we provide.

The first two vehicles to feature the new design promote fostering and are being launched during Foster Care Fortnight (11-24 May), the national campaign celebrating the incredible difference foster carers make to the lives of children and young people. By showcasing fostering in this way, we're helping to raise awareness and encourage more people to consider supporting children in our care.

Recruiting more local foster carers is a priority for us. It means children and young people can stay closer to their communities, schools and support networks, while also helping us make best use of public money by reducing the need for more complex and costly care placements.

With potential changes ahead for local government, we want to make sure people continue to see us, recognise us and feel connected to their council. A clear and consistent look for our vehicles helps us stay visible in everyday places and maintain strong links with the communities we serve - whatever the future looks like.

More vehicles will adopt the new look over time, with future designs highlighting other council services and priorities, helping residents better understand what we do and how we can support them.

We were pleased to be joined by Councillor Stuart Gourley, Executive Member for Environment and Highways, to help us unveil the new-look fleet.
