New Chairman elected for West Berkshire Council
Councillor Tony Vickers has been elected Chairman of West Berkshire for the coming year.
The Chairman is the formal representative of West Berkshire Council. The Chairman presides over Council meetings, officiates at civic functions and welcomes distinguished visitors of national and international significance on behalf of the district.
Tony Vickers was elected at West Berkshire Council's Annual Meeting on 15 May. Councillor Stephanie Steevenson, who has been elected Vice Chairman, will support Councillor Vickers in his role.
Speaking about his election, Councillor Vickers said:
"It's a great honour to be elected as the next Chairman of West Berkshire Council. I am committed to working hard to serve our community and achieve our goals together."
Councillor Tony Vickers replaces the outgoing Chairman, Councillor Billy Drummond.
