Recently, West Berkshire Council received our millionth online booking. We first launched our online booking system back in 2019, for tickets to events at Shaw House, West Berkshire Museum, the Family Hubs and one-off events like our Climate Change Conference.

As part of the council's response to Covid-19 in 2020, we established appointment booking at our Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) which is now a permanent feature and helps residents to cut queues and waiting times, and more.

We've also recently introduced bookings for selected events at West Berkshire Libraries.

Cllr Vicky Poole, Executive Member for Transformation and Corporate Programme (ICT and Digital Services), said:

This is a huge achievement. We strive to empower our residents to self-serve where-ever possible, particularly when it comes to reservations, booking appointments and consuming services.  As part of our continuous improvement, we will be incorporating new innovations and increasing our online suite of offerings, ensuring an even better experience for our residents.

We are always looking at improvements to our online booking processes, expanding to more services throughout the next 12 months. This will include allowing residents to book for more services online, improving the booking process at our household waste recycling centres and getting our events listings associated with ticket booking.
