Clinical Household Waste

Our clinical waste collection service for use by people receiving medical treatment at home.

It is important that your clinical waste, which can include items such as bandages, dressings and other disposable medical items, is not put in your normal rubbish bin.

We offer a free collection service for clinical waste which is usually arranged by your GP, hospital, health visitor or district nurse.

How will you collect my clinical waste?

We will provide you with orange sacks to contain your clinical waste. These will be collected every Wednesday. If a bank holiday falls on a Wednesday, we will contact you to let you know alternative collection arrangements.

This year, both Christmas Day and New Year's Day fall on a Wednesday, your usual clinical waste collection day. As such, collections will be completed on a Monday between Monday 23 December and Monday 30 December.

For needles or syringes (sharps), we will provide you with a box to put them in. We will collect this when it is full up. Please contact Customer Services, who will arrange collection and delivery of a new box.

To arrange a collection you must contact us by Friday, for a collection the following week.
