Trees or Woodland Protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO)

Check if a tree is protected and find out how to apply for permission to carry out works

A Tree Preservation Order (TPO) is a legal order made to protect and preserve trees for public enjoyment, environmental and aesthetic purposes.

You can check whether a tree (or trees) are protected using our online map, or by contacting Customer Services.

Before doing any work to protected trees, you should submit an Application for Tree Works to our Planning Service.
