Community RePaint

Donate your unwanted paint so it can be reused locally

Community RePaint allows residents to drop off paint at either of our Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) in the usual way. Householders visiting the HWRCs will also have the opportunity to take away paint free of charge.

When the paint is dropped off, staff at the HWRC will assess the paint and see if it is in a good enough condition to be reused. This will then be placed into the Community RePaint area at both HWRCs where it can be collected free of charge by householders for DIY jobs or local community projects.

This is a great way to pick up some free paint. In addition, this has benefits for the environment as the paint will be put to good use rather than being sent for recycling or disposal.

Before any paint is collected you will need to sign a disclamer and provide some details while you are at the HWRC, so we can keep a record of where the paint is going, this is to ensure we comply with our legal reporting requirements. Once you get home, if you are not happy with the quality of the paint you have collected, you can take it back to the HWRC for recycling.

If community groups need larger amounts of a single colour paint for a project, please Contact Us to see if we can help.

To drop off or pick up leftover paint, please make sure you have registered for a digital permit to visit the site and booked an appointment before you visit. This scheme is only open to householders and we cannot work with traders, retailers or manufacturers.
