Welcome to the new Your West Berkshire magazine.

As the Acting Leader of West Berkshire Council, it gives me great pleasure to introduce this new magazine. It's a good opportunity to find out more about some of the things your Council is doing for you and your community. Through this magazine we will be sharing with you news, events and stories about our work, our achievements and the services we provide throughout the district every single day.

In the Council Strategy we are committed to exploring new ways to inform and engage with residents - building our connection with you, the people we serve. In this edition you can read more about residents who are making a real difference: about Ann, who is one of our wonderful Shared Lives carers; about our latest Community Champions; and the adult learners who have gained qualifications - often in challenging circumstances.

Beyond that we'll be sharing more about a new flexible bus service we've introduced, previewing the first full season of the new Northcroft Lido and our car club. That, and of course, lots more too.
