About the Quality Assurance and Safeguarding Service (QAAS)
Information about the QAAS, what it does and contact details
QAAS is an independent service which includes:
- Child Protection Conference Chairs
- Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs)
- The Local Authority Delegated Officer (LADO)
They are responsible for different elements of a child or family's journey through Children and Family Services.
Through our roles as Child Protection Conference Chairs, IROs and LADO we help the most vulnerable children and young people by:
- making sure they have quicker and fairer decisions made about where they live, who will care for them and opportunities to achieve at school
- encouraging them to take part in making their wishes, feelings and experiences heard
- raising our standards so that children and young people can be confident that their social workers and IROs are working in their best interests
- working together with other agencies to ensure children and young people are confident that all professionals in their lives are working together to achieve the best for them and their family
