Statement of Community Involvement

Sets out the process and methods for community involvement for different types of plans and for different stages of plan preparation.

West Berkshire Council already has strong and valued links with many of its local communities. Greater involvement by the community in shaping the way the planning system operates locally is essential if the decisions we take are to more closely reflect local needs and wishes.

Our Statement of Community Involvement was adopted in 2020 and sets out how the public, organisations and other interested parties will be involved and engaged in the preparation of new Local Plan documents.

It's also supported by a Communications and Engagement Strategy which covers more broadly how the Council will keep residents informed about the progress developing the Local Plan and the opportunities for engagement set out in the Statement of Community Involvement.
