Short Breaks Fostering and Respite Care
Offering families a break from caring, while their child enjoys spending time with a short break carer
The Short Break Carers Scheme is available to families who have a child with a learning and/or physical disability living at home. The service aims to provide support to these families.
Children and their families benefit from the short breaks scheme by being linked to a short break care family.
The short break care family will 'share the care' by having the child to visit or stay with them for a day, a weekend, or longer on a regular basis in return for sessional payments from Children and Family Services.
