Apply for an Older Person's Bus Pass

A pass, for those of eligible age, that entitles the holder to concessionary travel on off peak, local bus journeys in England.

Eligibility for a National Bus Pass
1. A person is entitled to concessionary bus travel when they reach the eligible age, which is 66.
  
  To check your state pensionable age see the calculator on GOV.UK or contact Concessionary Fares Team.
  
  Please note you can apply for a bus pass up to three months before your eligible age. The pass will be sent out in the post ten days prior to your eligible age.
Proof of eligibility required
1. To make an application you will need to meet the eligability requirements and also be required to upload the following:
  
  A passport standard photograph (for more information, please read the GOV.UK page on rules for passport photos).
  
  Proof of residence (Less than a year old)
  - Council Tax Bill
  - Bank Statement
  - Utility Bill
  - Driving Licence
  Proof of age
  - Passport
  - Pension Entitlement Letter
  - Birth Certificate (if name unchanged)
  - Driving Licence
  - NHS Medical Card
  - Pension Letter
  Please note: a driving licence can be used as proof of age or proof of residence, but not both.
