Friends, Family and Connected Persons

Sometimes a child or young person cannot live at home with a parent either temporarily or permanently in a variety of circumstances. Adult friends, family members and other connected people, including professionals and Godparents, can put themselves forward to care for them.

The Friends, Family and Connected Persons policy explains the assessments and support available from West Berkshire Council to determine the suitability of prospective carers, the needs of the children and services and the support available to children and carers.
