The Castle Gate children's respite home in Newbury has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted.

Castle Gate, situated in the grounds of the Castle School, provides short breaks for children with physical and learning disabilities and is registered to provide overnight stays for up to six children.

The report praises the aspirational approach of the team and highlights how the service continues to set the bar for high-quality care and support for children and young people. By using monitoring and review systems, the home continuously improves the children's experiences and ensures that staff are constantly developing their skills.

The home celebrates the progress children make in areas like communication, independence, and self-care, each at a pace tailored to their individual needs. From farm visits to soft play and community outings, children are encouraged to embrace new experiences, and parents get to share in the joy through photos and videos.

Parents are full of praise, calling the service fantastic and expressing confidence in the team's ability to ensure their children are safe and happy.

With vibrant themed bedrooms and a welcoming atmosphere, this outstanding children's home truly leads the way in providing care, comfort, and life-changing experiences.
