Bidding for Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funds

Fourth round of CIL bid process for 2024/25

The closing date for CIL bids is 5pm on Monday 16th September.

We're delighted to announce that our next round of grants for local infrastructure projects is now open.

West Berkshire Council is launching its Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) for community groups. The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) money is a charge we receive from new developments to go towards infrastructure. The council has decided to allocate some of this for community projects.

We are asking communities to bid for some of this income to benefit the area you live in and look forward to hearing the excellent ideas and projects you come up with for using CIL funding.

To date, we've approved over £1 million in community grants ranging from £10k to £100k. Successful bids have included the renovation of village halls and scout huts, and improvements to sports and playground facilities.

We are now allocating a further £500,000 of capital funding from our budget. We are inviting bids from community groups, other infrastructure providers/partners in West Berkshire, town and parish councils and organisations that wish to deliver infrastructure to benefit the residents and businesses of the area. Proposed infrastructure should primarily support and deliver the council's infrastructure delivery plan.

We are accepting bids from £10,000 to £100,000 until 5pm on Monday 16th September.
