West Berkshire Council Care Homes

Information about care homes managed by West Berkshire Council.

We now have measures in place, as per government guidance, at each of the West Berkshire Council run care homes, to protect residents and visitors and facilitate safe visiting.

Further information for visitors is available in the Icon for pdf West Berkshire Council Care Home visitors protocol [77KB] . Additional information is available in our Icon for pdf Professional Visitor Protocol for Care Homes [29KB] for persons required to visit in a professional capacity.

West Berkshire Council manage three care homes:

All of these care homes are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Please note: with the exception of Birchwood Care Home, our homes are residential. This means that we don't directly employ registered nurses, but we can arrange for community support (such as district nurses) that can come in to meet some medical needs. Birchwood, as a registered nursing home, does employ registered nurses as part of the staff team.

We provide specialist support to people with dementia in Willows Edge and Birchwood. Notrees is ideal for those with a secondary diagnosis of early stage dementia.
