We know that moving into a care home can be difficult for prospective residents and their families, and we want to make it as easy and stress free as possible by providing an environment where residents receive a high standard of care and expertise, in a place where they feel valued, safe and secure. We encourage residents to bring personal items with them, so that they can feel at home.

By taking a person centred approach, we keep the focus on the individual personalities and their strengths and abilities, rather than any condition they may be living with. We aim to respect each resident's privacy and dignity and offer support to encourage their independence wherever possible.

Our residents thrive with individual care plans, created just for them. To ensure we get this right, we actively work with families and friends, the people they know, and that know them best.

Meals

Meals are prepared fresh each day within the home, using fresh, local ingredients whenever possible. Specific dietary requirements can be met for residents who have them.

Activities

We offer activities to suit individual needs, and encourage residents to continue with their existing hobbies and interests. We have two dedicated Activities Coordinators who work with residents to provide variety and to ensure that all preferences are known and included.

Staff

We have 24/7 cover on site from a qualified Registered General Nurse, plus a team of dementia practitioners that receive ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Visiting

Supporting our residents to keep in contact with family and friends is of paramount importance to us. However, we have had to manage this carefully through the Covid-19 pandemic, further information is detailed in the current version of our West Berkshire Council Icon for pdf Care Home Visitor Protocol [77KB] .
