A new Pop-Up Library space has now available at Compton Village Hall.
Everyone is welcome to drop in to the Village Hall to find a selection of books to borrow.
Compton Pop-Up Library will be open from 10am to 12pm on the following dates:

If you are not a member of West Berkshire Libraries, you can join when you visit - it's FREE!
If you can't find the books, you are looking for, just tell us about the sort of books you like to read and we'll choose a selection for you for to collect on our next visit.
At Home service
If you can't come to us, we'll come to you.
If you find it difficult to visit your local library and are unable to get to us, possibly because of age, disability or other special circumstance, our At Home service may be able to deliver books to you. If you are housebound, we can arrange doorstep deliveries to your home every few weeks with a small selection of library items.
There is no charge for this service, except when you request a book not held in any West Berkshire library.
How does it work?
A member of staff will visit you to discuss your requirements, to find out what sort of books you enjoy and whether you prefer hardbacks or paperbacks, large print books or perhaps audiobooks (spoken word items). If you want to use our e-library service, we can help you with that, too. We will enrol you as an At Home library member but we will keep your library card for you.
A library volunteer will then choose and deliver books to your home at a pre-arranged date and time, usually every three weeks. You can request favourite authors or particular titles and we will be happy to get them for you if we can.
Our library volunteers are friendly and always enjoy a chat. They have all been DBS (Police) checked.
