The law
There are strict laws and guidelines regulating child employment or entertainment. This is to ensure that children and young people:
- are appropriately registered
- are not being exploited
- are not engaged in any activities that could endanger their physical safety, compromise their health, or negatively impact their schooling
You can leave school on the last Friday in June if you will be 16 by the end of the summer holidays.
All unregistered employment, where there is no employment permit or applicable entertainment licence in force, is illegal.
