West Berkshire Council has allocated £500k to local communities in the latest round of funding from our Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) money, a charge we receive from new developments, to go towards infrastructure.

In July, we asked communities to bid for some of this income and it has been great to see the excellent ideas and projects that came through for using CIL funding. See the full list of funded projects here.

Councillor Iain Cottingham, West Berkshire's Executive Member for Finance and Resources said,

"We had a brilliant response to our latest round of grants for local infrastructure and are delighted to announce that we've been able to offer funding to support eleven great projects around the district. It's very exciting to be investing £500k in our communities and to see that all the projects we're supporting via the CIL funding will have a tangible, positive impact for many local people."
